    Responsible for File controlling on all files in one or more clusters within DB Schenker for AIR and Ocean 3PL Logistics.

    Continuous governance and monitoring of files (shipments) and transactions in Transport Management Systems, identify out layers and address resolutions on revenue and costs reserves, accruals as well as timely billing (Cash Flow).

    Analyse, identify and address out layers in large data sets with Transport Management details, identify trends and root causes and drive resolutions of the same.

    Play a pivotable role in the month end process closing operational revenue, costs including accruals.

    Perform reconciliation of TMS - SAP on financial and non financial data, participate in projects to improve and standardize the same. This has to be performed for all locations in scope (3-10) and in line with global guidelines. Learnings to be captured and embedded in standard processes.

    Improve quality and transparency of our numbers. By addressing issues the File Controlling is able to make meaning full impact by indirectly improve the Gross Profit, Processes (thus productivity), direct costs and CM2 and Cash Flow.

    All activities are to be performed in close cooperation with global file controlling and local operational accounting and controlling as well as local and SGBS Finance teams.

    Cooperate with Global File Controlling community on deep dives and audits.

    Perform file controlling on a professional way and with impact: By addressing issues as early as possible in the process, drive improved quality of Revenue, Operational Costs and thus Gross Profit, direct costs and CM2, detect leakages early and resolve the same, thus improve Gross Profit, CM1 and CM2 and drive Cash Flow improvement by governance on timely and accurate billing.

    Support the design and implementation of overall finance transformation initiatives

    Contributes to a working environment and culture which drives the DB Schenker mindset of all file controlling team members

    Supports implementation of best practices in file controlling with the goal of ultimately driving cost reduction and quality enhancement

    Supports the global teams with continually enhancing quality and reducing cost by streamlining processes, procedures, and automation

    Supports the local and global team members in resolving issues raised by them

    Defines performance goals at the start of the year in coordination with the Head of File Controlling

    Escalates any issues in a timely manner

    Keeps abreast of professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growth

    Requirements

    Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance or Similar

    3+ years of experience in a financial, business controlling, monitoring or governance of large amount of financial data.

    Experience with Finance / Accounting ERP systems and ideally with Transport Management Systems (3PL AIR, Ocean, Land, Contract Logistics)

    Strong knowledge and experience from logistic industry; or alternatively in a high-transactional or large data environment preferably with an international scope.

    3+ years of experience with preparing, analyzing large data sets and addressing issues from the same.

    Experience with reporting to and cooperating with top-management, including company boards

    Strong understanding of file management, job costing, business finance & Controlling processes

    Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work and to generate alternatives and solutions

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented approach toward business issues

    Knowledge and understanding of financial and business management principles with the ability to communicate and prioritize business requirements

    Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, able to deal with cultural differences and truly connect with people across functions and geographies.

    Must be highly skilled in MS Office and BI environments

    Highly organized and detail-oriented

    Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken)

    Strong business acumen, can-do mentality

    The File Controlling is responsible for performing File controlling for one or more Clusters within DB Schenker for Air and Ocean 3PL Logistics.

    The primary role includes Governance, Monitoring of files (shipments) and transactions in Transport Management Systems, identify out layers, address resolutions and cooperate in the monthend process closing operational revenue and costs.

    The purpose of the role is to improve quality, transparency of our numbers, and indirectly improve the Gross Profit, Processes (thus productivity) and Cash Flow.
