    Your tasks

    Position Description Summary
    The Customs Rater is responsible for reviewing and processing Customs documentation for Canada Border Intermediate releases and confirmations. The person in this role must also ensure client satisfaction through consistent customer service. The Customs Rater must also be committed to exceeding client expectations while respecting company policies.
    Principal Accountabilities
    *Managing workload by monitoring release and rating of client shipments for all modes of transportation
    *Provides accurate information and assistance to customers requiring information
    *Prepares and submits release packages to Canada Customs
    *Reviews invoices, manifests and other supporting documents for conformity to customs and corporate regulations
    *Obtains customs paperwork, example NAFTA, commercial invoices by calling vendor/client when requested
    *Verifies documentation for rating compliance
    *Maintains client database, updates information as necessary
    *Provides customer service when required
    *Provides accurate information and assistance to customers requiring information
    *Ability to process B3 entries to meet Company and Canada Customs compliance standards
    *Ability to correct Canada Customs rejected entries
    *Other duties as required

    Requirements

    Knowledge and Skills
    *Minimum a College Diploma ideally in Customs and/or International Trade
    *Previous office experience in a junior or intermediate role for 3-5 years.
    *Accurate data entry skills
    *Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
    *Experience in a busy customer focused environment,
    *Able to deal with changing priorities
    *Basic knowledge of customs operations preferred
    *Written and verbal Communication skills
    *Customer Service skills and Good organizational skills,
    *Able to work in a team environment
