    Position Description Summary:

    As part of the SLI Solutions Applications Team, this role will be responsible for leading and performing activities to design, configure, implement, govern and manage Schenker's Blue Yonder (formally JDA and RedPrairie) Warehouse Management System (WMS) supporting contract logistics for the Americas. Role will be a subject matter expert in technical design, configuration, deployment, and installation support of Schenker technologies and platforms. Position will promote and lead application standardization, utilization, integration, and optimization in alignment with the corporate IT landscape/governance. Position will report to the Manager, 3rd Party Applications for Corp IT CL/SCM.

    Principal Accountabilities (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):

    · Resource to have wide skill set/knowledge and professional experience in supply chain management covering transportation, warehousing, contract logistics, manufacturing/MRP, reverse logistics, supply chain planning, source/procurement, contract manufacturing (both domestic and internationally) 3PL experience and work history a plus. PMP certifications a plus. APICS certifications a plus (CPIM, CSCP).

    § Technical IT lead for designing, implementing, and supporting WMS deployments. Will be the subject matter expert in using, understanding, and explaining Blue Yonder WMS and any prerequisite systems leading to the platform/module implementations. Role will be the WMS SME for all system design, configuration, development, and on-going IT support strategy.

    · Blue Yonder WMS administration, IT support, and business process validation. Provide solutions leadership in defining business process and system requirements, formalizing and finalizing BRD (Business Requirements Document) and FBR (Functional Business Requirements) translating process requirements into technical IT specifications. Lead technical gap analysis (process vs. core functionality) and lead all IT development work (managing groups of software developers) to meet requirements. Responsibility of Change Requests and enhancement design and development. Responsible for technical documentation updates and implementation of requested changes in system.

    · Software development leadership: while the role will not be responsible for software programming and/or development directly; position will be the project lead working with developers to implement required functionality and system requirements to meet customer needs. Experience in managing the SDLC (software development lifecycle) a plus. Must have SQL, MOCA, and JAVA experience. Also experience with Microsoft SSRS or similar reporting tool is a plus.

    · Lead client IT solution development and in some cases working directly with the client in collaboration with operations and engineering to establish application, systems, and process requirements. Lead technical workshops to assess process and system requirements. Conduct client gap analysis and solution consultancy using Schenker technology tools. Experience in warehousing and distribution operations.

    · Assist with application maintenance and upgrade migrations. Key position in leading and owning corporate IT governance in alignment to corporate IT landscape. Provide leadership and oversight on any required application customization to meet customer needs and work with the ITOC (IT Operating Committee) in region (and the associated global solution competency center teams if applicable) to present and obtain any/all development, configuration, customization approvals. Establish and work inside a framework for customization of all platforms and modules.

    · WMS application strategic planning activities (key participant and input resource). Stay up to date on current and future Blue Yonder WMS versions, execution technologies, capabilities and trends. Lead and participate in application research and development activities for the company. Lead and facilitate team training (both technical and non-technical) in various logistic applications.

    Essential Functions:

    Must be able to pass any federal/state/local government, airport, or company-required background checks, clearances, and/or drug and alcohol tests.

    Education, Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required for Position (The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel):

    · Required (WMS): -5+ years' experience designing, deploying, implementing, and supporting Blue Yonder WMS applications. Preferably experience with the following leading industry platforms: Blue Yonder Experience in deployment and management of labor and transportation management systems (such as Red Prairie, JDA WFM) is a plus.

    · Experience in integration and B2B messaging. Ideal for candidate to have experience in working with middleware/gateways to translate standard B2B protocols such as Axway XIB, Software AG, WebMethods. Experience with RosettaNet, EDIfact, IDOC, EDI X12, JSON, API, ANSI X12, FTP, and XML preferred). Experience utilizing Web Services. Warehouse controls, Blue Yonder Integrator, RF technology, and automation: experience with and use of RF technologies in the warehouse in alignment with the Schenker tools & technology is required. Experience with voice-pick, pick-to-light, layer-picking, and warehouse mechanization technologies a plus. Technical experience with warehouse control systems (integrated with WMS) a plus.

    · Platform testing and WMS systems technical validation: 2-5' years' experience leading platform unit testing, functional acceptance testing (FAT), system integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities. Experience and involvement in all phases of WMS implementation (Design, Development, Configuration, Validation, Go-Live, and Post-Go Live Support processes). Ensure system design, interface functionality, and processes are coordinated and functioning effectively. Ideal candidate will have multiple years' experience leading application testing (develop plan, execute testing, facilitate cross-company communication, etc.).

    Travel Requirement: up to 50% depending on project requirements; average approx. 25-30%.
